Drive-In Theaters of Connecticut And some of Rhode Island and Massachusetts

Welcome to Drive-In Theaters of Connecticut! So what made me become interested in drive-in theaters? In the early 1980s, my family and I lived next to an operating drive-in theater. Although I never saw a movie there, I remember going past the drive-in at night with the marquee and screen lit up. In 2000, while walking with my family through the now-abandoned theater, I was fascinated by just how tall the trees had grown up in front of the screen.

I took many photos of that particular drive-in, and it made me wonder about other drive-ins in my area. After doing some research at the local library, I was shocked to learn that there were 45 drive-in theaters in Connecticut! I have attempted to visit each site and photograph them in various stages of disrepair and/or development. This website is my way of sharing my photos with other drive-in fanatics on the web!
